Happy Birthday with a Cherry on Top

The new in-colors remind me of Sherbet, so I just had to use some of them on this Ice Cream cone card. The color combination is Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait. Doesn't this make you crave some sherbet?
The stamp sets that I used are Sweet Scoops (#120078 - $14.95 in clear mount) and A Word for You (#120528 - $16.95 in clear mount). The Sweet Scoops stamp set is from the Summer Mini catalog and is only available for a few more weeks.
I stamped the ice cream cone and birthday greeting in Peach Parfait and the ice cream swirl in Blushing Bride. Then of course I had to add a cherry on top of the ice cream using Cherry Cobbler ink. The textured background was created with the Square Lattice Textured Impression Pad and the Big Shot and the Scallop Rectangle was cut using the new clearlits die.
I hope you enjoy this card!

Look Who's Turning.........

It is inevitable that we all will hit certain age milestones during our lives and in four short months my big "40" Birthday will have come and gone. I could not resist making a bold statement with this adorable card. The Owls were created with the new "Two Step Owl Punch" (118074 - $16.95) and Tombow Adhesive. This punch cuts all the cardstock pieces to create an Owl with only one punch. For this card I used Real Red and So Saffron to create two Owls in coordinating colors.

The background is embossed using the Big Shot and Textured Plates # 4 to create a woodgrain effect. The branches were punched with the "Two Step Bird Punch" (117191 - $16.95). The numbers were cut out of the new Play Date designer series paper. This DSP set contains two full 12 x 12 sheets with 1" square numbers, which will all you to create dozens of these cute cards for any birthdate. The "look who's turning" greeting is from the "On Your Birthday" stamp set.

Birthday Wishes

This is another beautiful card made with the
Watercolor Trio stamp set. I can't believe that this set is only available for a few more weeks, it has become one of my favorites!

The background is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impression Pad and the Big Shot. I absolutely love the color combination
of Wild Wasabi and Marina Mist. I used Daffodil Delight to color the center of the Flower and the Butterfly to add a little bit of cheer to this card.

Watercolor Trio - Birthday Wishes

I absolutely love the Summer Mini stamp set "Watercolor Trio" (#120084 - $16.95 for clear mount and #117050 - $22.95 for wood mount).

This set includes three beautiful flower images, a butterfly silhouette and three wonderful greetings. The greetings layer beautifully on the 1-3/4" x 7/8" Oval and the Scallop Oval punches and coordinate with many other stamp sets.

This beautiful stamp set is only available until August 31, 2010. I will be using this stamp set for a card at my August 8th Stamp Camp.

Masuline Birthday Card

This beautiful Dragonfly Card was created for my July Stamp Camp. It features the stamp set "Nature's Nest" (#113826 - $26.95) on page 114 of the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog. This stamp set is ideal for using on Masculine themed birthday or thank you cards.
The Dragonfly image was stamped in Jet Black StazOn on Whisper White cardstock. I watercolored the stamped image with Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron and Olive Classic Ink Pads and a Blender Pen. The Happy Birthday image is from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set. The textured background was embossed on Tempting Turquoise cardstock with Stampin' Up!'s exclusive "Square Lattice" textured impression embossing folders and the Big Shot. The patterned design under the Dragonfly is from the "Tropical Oasis" Designer Series Paper that is available in the Summer Mini Catalog through August 31st.

Stampin' Up! Convention 2010 - Swaps

One of the many fun things to do at any Stampin' Up! event is the swapping of card fronts. For the 2010 Stampin' Up! Convention I made approximately 230 card fronts to swap with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators from the United States and Canada. I used the new Bear Hugs stamp set and the vintage Artistic Etchings stamp set for these cards. They were fun to create and put together with a little help from some of my stamping friends (Tina, Paula and Linda). I will also be posting these cards individually with the product recipes. In return for swapping these cards I received over 200 fabulous card fronts that I will show on my display board at upcoming stamp camps and workshops. I look forward to sharing these great ideas with you!

Happy Stamping!

Sarah

Stampin' Up! Convention 2010 - Swaps

These are the first two cards that I made for swapping at the 2010 Stampin' Up! Convention. They feature the new Build a Bear Workshop - Bear Hugs Stamp Set (#116966 - $13.95). This stamp set is perfect for water-coloring. I stamped the bear image in Jet Black StazOn on Confetti White cardstock and colored the bears in Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette for the Girl bear and Baja Breeze for the Boy bear with Classic Ink Refills and an Aqua Painter. I used the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder for the background layer of the card. I punched out the bear with 1-3/4" Circle punch and then layered it on the new 1-3/4" Scallop Circle. The ribbon accent was created with the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch and I then stamped the "Hello there, baby bear!" greeting in Soft Suede Classic Ink and layered on various oval pieces.

Stampin' Up! Convention 2010 - Swaps

This is the second card that I made for swapping at the 2010 Stampin' Up! Convention. This card features the Artistic Etchings stamp set (#120573 - $14.95 in clear mount) and the En Francais Background stamp (#109521 - $17.95).

I love the vintage look that can be created by using this stamp set. After stamping the background with the En Francais stamp set I then lightly sponged the edges with Basic Black Classic Ink. For a crisp image I stamped both the Eiffel Tower and Amour in Jet Black StazOn ink. I also added dimension to this card with the Heart of Hearts Embosslit and the Full Heart punch.

I love the new Love Letter Designers Series Paper which adds to the vintage look of this card. This paper showcases Riding Hood Red, Basic Black and Very Vanilla.

Stampin' Up! Convention 2010 - Swaps

This is the final swap card that I made for the 2010 Stampin' Up! Convention. It features the Artistic Etchings stamp set (#120573 - $14.95 in clear mount) and the En Francais Background Stamp (#109521 - $17.95). The Eiffel Tower is stamped in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink. This color resembles the true look of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. I also used Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Baja Breeze Classic Ink Pads. I then used the new Elegant Soiree Designer Series Paper (#117163 - $9.95) and coordinating cardstock colors for the base and background of this card.

Tropical Party!

This beautiful card was created for my July Stamp Camp. It features the Tropical Party Stamp Set (#120081 - $13.95 clear mount or #118515 - $17.95 wood mount) and Island Oasis Designer Series Paper (#117173 - $9.95).

I absolutely love the colors featured in this designer series paper. For this card I used Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron and Rose Red cardstock, Chocolate Chip and Rose Red Classic Ink Pads and So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Markers. The beautiful textured background on the Tempting Turquoise layer was created with the Square Lattice Textured Impression Embossing Folder (#119976 - $7.95) and the Big Shot. I used the Scallop Trim Border (#118402 - $15.95) to create a canopy effect under the Umbrellas Pattern from the DSP. I added the cute "let's celebrate" phrase with the It's Your Birthday stamp set and placed it behind a 1" circle cut from the textured background. This is the perfect Birthday card for anyone celebrating a summer birthday!

This Stamp Set and Designer Series Paper is only available until August 31, 2010.

Valentine's Flower Bouquet

I created this beautiful Valentine's Flower Bouquet using the following Stampin' Up! products:

- Real Red Cardstock
- Pretty-in-Pink Cardstock
- Full Heart Punch
- 1-1/4" Circle Punch
- 1" Circle Punch
- Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslits Die
- Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder
- Sizzix Big Shot
- Real Red Corduroy Brads & Buttons
- Pretty-in-Pink Corduroy Buttons

First I ran the cardstock through the Big Shot using the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Folder and punched out four hearts for each flower using my Full Heart punch. I then used a two-way glue pen to piece together each flower. I finished each piece with a Corduroy button or brad. These flowers are quick and easy to create and the bouquet will make a beautiful centerpiece for your special Valentine!

I will be demonstrating how to create these flowers at my Valentine's Day project class on Sunday, January 31st.

The Occasions Mini Catalog products will be available beginning Tuesday, January 5th. This new mini catalog is wonderful. If space to store your Stampin' Up! stamps sets is an issue, then the products in this catalog are ones that you do not want to miss. Stampin' Up! has taken their great rubber stamps and given you an option to mount these stamp sets on clear acrylic blocks. These new stamp sets are identified in the catalog with a "C". The sets will arrive to you in compact DVD size cases and you will just need to purchase coordinating acrylic blocks. I will be purchasing a few of these need stamps and be creating a tutorial on my blog in the next few weeks. I will also be demonstrating this wonderful new product at some of my upcoming workshops. Stampin' Up! will also still continue to offer the wood mounted stamp sets.

Check out pages 10 & 11 for our newly designed punches. These punches will allow you to punch with ease and they lock shut and provide you with more storage space.
